Deceased Name: Helene Garon

Helene Perry Garon, 90, of Palm Springs and Las Vegas died Feb. 28, 2005, in Las Vegas.

She was born Oct. 4, 1914, to John William Perry and Rebecca Mekalinsky Perry in Pueblo, Colo.

She married Bernard I. Garon on Aug. 8, 1937, in Pueblo, Colo.

She was a retired owner and operator of a novelty and gift store.

She was a member of the Southern California Assistance League, Hadassah and Temple Isaiah of Palm Desert.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Schwartz of Las Vegas; her son, Leonard Garon of Philadelphia; her brother, Alvan Perry of Denver; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard I. Garon.

A graveside service and burial were held Thursday at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City with Wiefels & Son Funeral Directors Palm Springs in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Sigma Delta Tau Foundation in Carmel, Ind.

Deceased Name: HELENE GARON

Helene Garon, 90, a 20 year resident of Palm Springs, Calif., passed away Monday Feb. 28, 2005. She was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Pueblo, Colo., and resided in Las Vegas for two years. Helene was a retired owner/operator of a novelties and gifts store. She was also a member of the Assistance League of Southern California, Hadassah and Temple Isaiah of Palm Springs, Calif. Helene was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Garon, who passed away in 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Schwartz and her husband, Abe of Las Vegas; son, Leonard Garon and his wife, Jane of Philadelphia; brother, Alvin Perry and his wife, Rita of Denver; two grandchildren, Jason and Stephanie, both of Philadelphia; niece, Donna Perry of Denver; and nephew, Robert Perry of Denver. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Desert Memorial Park in Palm Springs, Calif. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sigma Delta Tau Foundation, 714 Adams St., Carmel, IN 46032. Arrangements were handled by King David Memorial Chapel & Cemetery.
